Written by Megan Bebout | 6/23/22 11:00 AM

It’s not every day you have the chance to be surrounded by healthcare professionals like you, attend educational sessions and earn continuing education units (CEUs), and attend speaking seminars from industry experts across the board. However, that’s the reality of what it’s like to attend the Traveler’s Conference, or more commonly known as TravCon. This year, the conference gets even better with Marketplace as a TravCon Premium Sponsor! Let’s find out more about TravCon and answer some of your burning questions like:

What is TravCon?

TravCon is more than an annual healthcare conference—it’s a place to make friends, collect knowledge, earn scholarships, and make memories. What started in 2008 as a small networking event has grown to be the “epicenter of the healthcare travel industry,” something you won’t want to miss. On average, each year, there’s 1,500 travelers in attendance, plus dozens of exhibitors like Marketplace, and Furnished Finder.

TravCon is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to serve the needs of healthcare travelers through a four-day event focused on “community, knowledge, and inspiration.” This year, the event will take place September 16th to 20th in Las Vegas, Nevada where TravCon attendees can attend educational and guest speaker sessions, earn CEUs, and connect with other travelers who get them. If that sounds good to you, purchase your tickets now before they’re sold out!

What is there to do at TravCon?

Now, you may be wondering what to do at TravCon once you get there, especially if it’s your first time coming. And if it is your first time at TravCon, the TravCon team has put together some handy dandy tips to help you make the most of the experience.

Once you arrive at the conference, there’s loads to do. From classic Vegas entertainment to collecting healthcare skills to networking with peers and professionals, TravCon has a little something for everyone.

No. 1: Participate in extra-curricular events

There are several different traveler participation options when it comes to TravCon and one of them is the extra-curricular events that go on during the week. These events may require an additional ticket or registration, so be sure to check in advance to ensure you have your spot reserved. Wondering what exactly is going on? No. 2: Attend educational sessions and earn CEUs

Regardless of your division or specialty, from physical therapy (PT) to radiology tech (rad tech) to emergency room nurse (ER RN) and then some, TravCon welcomes travelers of all healthcare expertise. Part of TravCon’s mission is to provide knowledge to healthcare travelers, recruiters, and other conference attendees and one way the TravCon team does so is through continued education.

Continued education is vital for professionals in healthcare to stay up to date on the latest industry trends, news, and healthcare practices. That’s why TravCon provides educational sessions given by more than 40 experts to give you the chance to earn more CEUs to add to your resume and advance your traveler career.

You can also renew some of your certifications at TravCon! For example, here, you can renew your:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

TravCon is a unique networking event because it not only allows you to meet and greet professionals like yourself, but it also provides the opportunity to enhance your healthcare career all in the same place.

No. 3: Listen to the keynote speaker

Each year, TravCon hosts a keynote speaker and this year, you can look forward to “the healthcare humorist," Terry Foster, RN, MSN, FAEN, CCRN, CPEN, TCRN, CEN.

In addition to Terry Foster, TravCon will feature 50+ speakers and 70+ sessions, so you'll definitely find something to pique your interest.

No. 4: Live viva Las Vegas

Taking place at the Paris Hotel on the Vegas Strip, TravCon gives you premium access to the best parts of the city.
