Megan Bebout: Why should travelers choose to travel with Aequor?

BJ Dodenbier: Our candidates like us! We’ve been voted in the Top 5 Best Travel Nursing Agencies of 2020 by BluePipes under the USSI brand. We also offer high pay, generous bonuses, and non-pro-rated tax-free stipends. Plus, Aequor’s seamless technology (self-service platform) with a dedicated recruiter will help candidates to manage all aspects of your travel experience.

We have all the jobs. We have jobs in all states. We have the best facilities, and we have great pay packages. We also have great recruiters with almost all having experience prior to working here.

MB: Tell us about your traveler benefits.

BD: We have quick and easy access to over tens of thousands of exclusive jobs nationwide. We also have a clinician self-service platform that allows candidates to apply, safely send credentials, and track work in one place. Aequor has transparent high pay, in addition to a generous bonus. Plus, we offer medical, dental, vision, short-term, long-term, and life. We also offer CEU reimbursement and sign-ons with select assignments.

When you travel with Aequor, travelers also have a single recruiter as their main point of contact who will help candidates manage all aspects of the travel experience.

MB: What trends are you seeing in the healthcare staffing industry?

BD: We’re seeing high-paying jobs and lots of them, increasing options for travelers. We’re seeing high levels of practitioner burnout, which is leading to unprecedented quit rates, as well as shortages across the board forcing nurse to take on higher patient-to-nurse ratios.

MB: How do you think the industry will evolve in the next five years?

BD: Rates will stabilize, the industry will get more jobs in more places and everything will become self-service and transparent to travelers.

MB: Where across the U.S. are you seeing a strong demand for healthcare?

BD: These are the top states we’re seeing a strong demand: California, Texas, North Carolina, Alaska, Florida, Georgia, New York, Virginia, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania.

MB: What types of jobs are you seeing a high demand for?

BD: Intensive-care unit (ICU), med-surg, operating room (OR), emergency room (ER), and labor and delivery (L&D) nurses are in demand. Respiratory therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, medical technologists, and educational professionals are also in high demand.

MB: What advice would you give to first-time healthcare travelers?

BD: Choose your company and recruiter wisely and look at the details of the deal/contract. Also, work with experienced recruiters.

MB: What are some common questions you hear from travelers?

BD: We often get questions about pay, benefits, housing, clinical supervision, and help when they need it.

MB: Why is transparency so important in this industry?

BD: Because there’s a lot of detail behind-the-scenes and to get the most competitive offer and best situation, you need a transparent company to be upfront with you and take care of you.

MB: Why do you think a traveler-driven Marketplace is beneficial for the healthcare staffing industry?

BD: The world/industry is moving to self-service. So, if you don’t offer that, you’ll be left behind.

MB: Why would you recommend a Marketplace partnership to other agencies?

BD: Candidate flow with return of investment (ROI)!
