Common Questions Healthcare Travelers Have About Marketplace

Written by Cecilia Gillen | 8/8/22 11:00 AM

Marketplace is a traveler-driven platform, which means we’ve designed our features with the traveler in mind and bring on only the best agencies. However, if you’re new to our platform, you still may have some questions! Here are all the common questions travelers have about Marketplace (FMP) answered by Shanna Shore Matthews, Director of Customer Relationships at Marketplace.

Q&A with Shanna Shore Matthews, Director of Customer Relationships

How can I find temporary housing with Marketplace?

Shanna Shore Matthews: FMP is integrated with Furnished Finder. Every job card has a Furnished Finder link, and you can see housing options in and around the location of the job.

Do I have to change insurances with each new agency I work with through Marketplace?

SSM: You do have to change insurance when you switch from agency to agency unless you carry your own private insurance.

Note: How often you switch agencies or take breaks between contracts may impact your insurance, but it will look different for every traveler. Some travelers opt for private insurance so they never have to worry about any gaps in coverage or switching to a different provider. Do what's best for you!

Can I apply for multiple jobs at once?

SSM: You sure can. You can apply to as many jobs as you would like assuming the jobs match your skill set.

Pro-tip: With our multi-apply feature, if a job is offered by multiple agencies, you can apply to the job with all of the agencies or a select number of them at once. This is great for negotiating the best contract for a job you’re interested in!

Why is pay not listed on some job postings?

SSM: We want to make sure the pay per job is as accurate as possible. There are many factors to take into consideration. If a job doesn’t show pay, then all factors haven’t been figured out and you need to call the agency for that job listed to talk through the pay.

How do I leave a recruiter rating or review?

SSM: If the recruiter works for a partner already on FMP, then you just go to the partner page and view all recruiters. From there you can leave a review for the recruiter. If the recruiter works for an agency that is NOT on FMP, you cannot leave a review.

What kind of jobs does Marketplace have?

SSM: You can find nursing, long term care (LTC), and allied positions on Marketplace. The majority of the open positions are travel positions and there are also full-time positions.

What if I already have a recruiter I work with?

SSM: If the recruiter works for a partner already on FMP, then you can choose to continue to work with that recruiter. If the recruiter doesn’t work with a partner already on FMP, you then will have to find a new agency to work with.

How many agencies are on Marketplace?

SSM: We currently have 16 agency partners on FMP. We will continue to add agency partners to give the best experience for the healthcare professional. Choices are key when it comes to finding the right agency to work with and we want FMP to provide great opportunities.

Why is it so important to complete my traveler profile?

SSM: The further along you are in the profile process the more likely you are to get a job. The jobs open and close very fast. If you have a fully completed profile, you can be submitted faster to a job.

Fun fact: Travelers with a complete profile are five times more likely to be placed in an assignment!

Does Marketplace have an app?

SSM: Yes! The Marketplace App is now available so you can take your job search on the go.
